Every day I come here to check on whatever recent activity, members, etc. the place has received. I am almost always happy to see at least 1 visitor on at the same time I am. When I check to see who the visitor is, it's almost always the wonderful Google Bot.
I'm wondering exactly what the hell this thing is. Is it some sort of bot that periodically checks into these types of forums to record what info has been received since the previous check in so that it can be added to the google search, or what? At first I was thinking it might have been some advertising bot, but as of yet, I have not noticed much advertising besides the top and bottom of the screen.
Anybody know exactly what this thing is, and why it checks in so often?
